Capture true beauty with glamour shot

Is the cold weather leaving you feeling depressed and in a funk? Gallery Portaits in Amherst may have a solution.

Owners Karen Farren and June Worster are offering a day of glamour and a personal photo shoot that will be the pick-me-up you need.

Farren said they are excited to work with women in the community to capture their true beauty.

“We just work with so many incredible women,” she said. “We wanted to offer them a day of glamour.”

Farren and Worster started Gallery Portraits in 2003 to offer a unique portrait studio experience. This is their first year offering the glamour shot special.

Your day of glamour starts with an hour of beauty at Affinity Salon in Amherst. Your stylist will work with you to make your hair and makeup perfect for your photo session.

Then head over to Gallery Portraits for your time to shine. Choose your style of picture, ranging from a sophisticated look to super sexy, Farren said.

After Farren and Worster tried it out themselves, they had such a great time that they had to share the experience with others.

“We had so much fun doing it,” Farren said. “I wanted to offer it to other women. It’s a great way for them to feel good about themselves.”

With more than 15 years of combined photography experience, the pair wanted to offer women a way to pamper themselves while getting the perfect gift for their significant other.

To prepare for this day of glamour, all you have to do is pick out a couple of outfits you’d like to wear. Farren and Worster suggest you bring a tank top or tube top if you’d like an off-shoulder look. The pair will provide accessories, including feather fans, scarves and more, that will add the finishing touch to your look.

The price for this package starts at $100, which includes salon and studio time. After your photographs are taken, you’ll head up to the art rendering studio for minor touch-ups, if you’d like. The cost of prints, photo books and other gifts start at $200.

Gallery Portraits specializes in creative children and family portraits, both on-site and on location.

They offer several unique picture opportunities, including photo sessions at the beach and in-studio pictures with bunnies in the spring.
